ABOUT GANGES CRUISING
Luxury cruising on the Ganges is different from other forms of cruising. The atmosphere on board is informal and relaxed and a deeply tranquil vacation experience.

The staterooms are 168 sq feet (12 sq meters) which makes them amongst the roomiest afloat. They are full of character and comfort. The colonial style promenade and observation decks, bar / lecture theatre and single sitting dining room make these ships amongst the smartest and most stylish of small ships.

Whilst the staterooms are very comfortable and roomy, passengers can also spend their time sitting outside, on the promenade decks or on the vast observation deck above. Exploratory shore excursions are led by expert local guides.
                                                                                                                                                                   R.V. Charaidew
Charaidew Cruise
The vessel used on this cruise:

CHARAIDEW - 38m long twin-engine steel hulled passenger boat with 12 generous sized twin bedded cabins with en-suite shower and W.C. All cabin accommodation is on the upper deck, with a bar and saloon opening onto a front deck. A dining room with full length opening glass doors on each side is on the lower deck, while a large top sundeck offers additional comfortable open-air seating in shade or sun. All cabins and public rooms are air-conditioned.

SUKAPHA - also powered by twin engines with 12 generous sized cabins. The spacious saloon has French windows opening onto a front balcony deck and the dinning room again has glass doors down each side. Specially-commissioned furniture and locally-woven soft furnishings match those on the "Charaidew". Again, the large sundeck offers the opportunity to relax on comfortable cane rattan chairs and sun loungers.        R.V. SukaphaCharaidew Cruise
All cabins and public rooms are air-conditioned.

The eight hundred mile expedition will be of fourteen days duration. The expedition takes in a number of the most important historical sites in India including the colonial splendors of Calcutta, the sacred places of Buddhism around Bodh Gaya. In addition, the cruise will stop daily in smaller towns and villages to see handicrafts, rural life and a variety of local cultures as we pass from region to region.

Given the practical difficulties of crossing India by land, a river cruise makes the best sense covering a vast landscape in comfort and safety and exploring the real India well off the beaten track.
